DNV Offshore Codes
DNV rules incorporate knowledge and experience acquired over time and provide a consistent set of standards designed to ensure fail safe design and redundancy to prevent a failure from becoming a critical accident. The rules and supporting documents are subject to regular updating to reflect operational experience and advances in technology.
Documents for offshore class, the DNV Offshore Codes, consist of a 3-level hierarchy of documents:
- Offshore Service Specifications provide principles and procedures of DNV classification, certification, verification and consultancy services
- Offshore Standards provide technical provisions and acceptance criteria for general use by the offshore industry as well as the technical basis for DNV offshore services
- Recommended Practices provide proven technology and sound engineering practice as well as guidance for the higher level Offshore Service Specifications and Offshore Standards.

Oslo: DNV is releasing a new revision of the DNV Submarine Pipeline Standard - DNV OS F101. In cooperation with the industry, this worldwide preferred standard is now ISO harmonised, as well as having an increased focus on integrity management and improved document structure.
